กรรมการผู้แทนสมาคมมัคคุเทศก์อาชีพแห่งประเทศไทย เดินทางเข้าร่วมงานฉลองวันคริสต์มาสและวันปีใหม่ ซึ่งมีการจัดกิจกรรมบริเวณท่าน้ำ THE ICON SIAM ซึ่งในงานได้รับเกียรติจากท่านรัฐมนตรีว่าการการท่องเที่ยวฯเข้าร่วมเยี่ยมชมพร้อมกำชับถึงเรื่องความปลอดภัยกับผู้ที่จะมาเที่ยวชมการแสดงในงาน หลังจากนั้น ท่านรมว.ทท ได้เดินเข้าไปใน บริเวณเอเชียทีค เดินผ่าน ทักทาย ผู้ประกอบการร้าค้า และ ถ่ายรูปกับนทท.ที่มารับทานอาหาร จับจ่ายใช้สอย
และเมื่อเวลาประมาน 18:00 รมว. พร้อมทั้ง ผบ ทท เดินทางโดยเรือ Speed Boat ของ ตร.ทท. ไป ICON SIAM ในการร่วมเดินรณรงค์ตามสถานที่จัดงานคริสต์มาสและปีใหม่ ที่ท่าน้ำ THE ICON SIAM พร้อมทั้งสอบถาม การเตรียมพร้อมงานส่งท้ายปีเก่า ต้อนรับปีใหม่
โดยท่าน รมว ทท. และ ตร.ทท ได้กำชับ กับทางผู้บริหารฯ ICON SIAM เรื่อง Capacity ในการรองรับปริมาณ ผู้มาชมงาน และความปลอดภัยในชมการจุดพุล Countdown ทางน้ำ
ทางด้านผู้บริหารฯ ICON กล่าวว่า ตนและทีมงานพร้อมหาทางรับมือและแก้ไข โดยพื้นที่บริเวณริมน้ำซึ่งใช้เป็นลานในการชมพุลนั้นสามารถรองรับผู้เข้าชมได้ ประมาน 10,000 คน++ แต่ทาง ตร. ทท. นั้นคาดการณ์ไว้ว่า น่าจะมีผู้เดินทางเข้ามาร่วมงาน Countdown ไม่น่าจะต่ำกว่า 100,000คน++ เนื่องจาก ICON SIAM กำลังเป็น Landmark แห่งใหม่ของ กทม. ที่กำลังได้รับความนิยมจากนักท่องเที่ยวทั้งไทยและนักท่องเที่ยวต่างชาติ

Tourist Police Bureau has the sole objective of providing safety and security to tourists visiting Thailand. The major task assigned to the Tourist Police is the well-being of tourists, issuing advise and assisting them on safety and security while they are staying in Thailand. This includes Thai tourists and aims to prevent and suppress crime in various forms that will impact our tourism industry here in Thailand . At present , the government has policies in place to support domestic tourism by supporting tourism activities , tourists attractions, cultural events via close supervision and well planned security to the highest of standards . This will aid and continue to develop sustainable tourism. Therefore on the Christmas and New Year Celebration there will be numerous tourists visiting Thailand to join this greetings season, this will generate major revenue for Thailand. The Thai Tourist Police Bureau led by Police Lieutenant General Teerapon Kuptarnond, Tourist Police Commissioner and Police Lieutenant General Surachate Hakparn, Immigration Commissioner therefore integrates operations with the relevant authorities , i.e , Metropolitan Police Bureau , Narcotics Suppression Bureau, Department of Provincial Administration, Immigration Bureau, Marine Department, Bangkok Metropolis, Ministry of Tourism and Sports, etc, to mobilize the various forces to prevent and suppress crimes that would affect Thailand’s Tourism during the Christmas and New Year Celebration at tourist attractions across the nation. Specifically the Tourist Police Bureau, has deployed 1,500 police personnel in cooperation with Tourist Police Volunteers to create confidence for tourists both Thais and Foreigners. In this regard, Weerasak Kawsurat, Minister of Tourism and Sports preside over this ceremony and issue policy on providing safety and security for tourists vis the Tourist Police and all agencies concerning tourism while building officers morale . He joins operational patrol on water ways at The Icon Siam Pier with the Tourist Police Bureau during the Christmas and New Year events within the areas of Bangkok Metropolis on December 18, 2018 as well.
In this regard, Tourist Police Bureau has invited houred guests who are ambassadors, envoy and diplomatic representatives from the embassies based in Thailand to participate the event as well as the head of government agencies related to tourism industry, security agency, representatives from private sectors in relation to tourism are welcome to attend the event as well.
